The boats of Brug Jachtverhuur are moored at the B-jetty. You must first register at our floating office, which is also located at the B-jetty near the restaurant.

A boating license is not required to rent a sailing yacht in the Netherlands if the yacht is no longer than 15 meters and the speed does not exceed 20 km per hour.
All sailing yachts from Brug Jachtverhuur are shorter than 15 meters. However, you must have sufficient experience sailing comparable cabin sailing yachts. If you want to sail to the Wadden Sea, you need a boating license 2 and experience with tides. A North Sea package is also mandatory for the North Sea.

The deposit must be paid in cash or by credit card at the start of the rental period (or by bank transfer). It can also be transferred by bank one day before departure.

After the rental period:

1. The renter will receive the prepaid deposit in cash upon return of the sailing yacht, via cancellation authorization (credit card) or refund (bank), provided no new damage has been caused to the yacht and no damage to third parties has occurred.

2. In case of damage caused by the renter to the rental yacht or to third parties, the renter pays for the damage up to the deductible/security deposit. In case of damage, the full deposit is always withheld. If the damage is so severe that the next renter cannot sail out, we hold you liable for consequential damages, with a maximum amount of €500 on top of the deductible. This is established in the Hiswa terms and conditions, article 10.

3. If the renter causes multiple damages, the damage amount (up to the deposit per incident) must be paid by the renter each time. Repairs to yachts are often expensive, and your liability for lost rental income (when a yacht cannot be rented due to damage) can also be significant. You can reduce your deposit, which covers 85% of your deposit.
Upon booking, you will receive an application form from Unigarant insurance that you can fill out.

The reservation, gas, and cleaning fees, as well as the diesel you consume, are additional costs
that come on top of renting the sailing yacht (see price list).

In case of damage, defect, or any other issue, the renter must contact the lessor as soon as possible.

If the renter wishes to cancel or change the booking, they must notify the lessor in writing as soon as possible. The lessor is entitled to a fixed fee of:

– 15% of the agreed rental price in case of cancellation up to 3 months before the rental period;
– 50% of the agreed rental price in case of cancellation up to 2 months before the rental period;
– 75% of the agreed rental price in case of cancellation up to 1 month before the rental period;
– 100% of the agreed rental price in case of cancellation within 1 month or less before the rental period.

The lessor charges €30 administration fees on top of the above cancellation/change fees.

You must be at least 21 years old to rent our sailing yachts. You can always hire a skipper from us. For Sneekweek, the minimum age for both renter and skipper is 23 years.

You can only rent a sailing yacht from us upon presentation of a valid ID (driver’s license, identity card, passport). We will make a copy of your ID, which will be destroyed immediately after the rental period.

Our yachts are fully insured with an all-risk policy, with a deductible equal to the amount of the security deposit. If damage occurs, we deduct this from the deposit. If the damage exceeds this amount, we contact the insurance company. The cost of this insurance is €55.

You have the option to insure your deposit through a so-called deposit insurance. This covers 85% of your deposit in case of damage, but the deposit is still paid to us. In case of damage, the full amount of the deposit is reimbursed afterwards by the insurance.

There are various providers on the market and you have complete freedom of choice. We often work with Unigarant Insurance. We will send you the application form along with the contract once you have made the booking.

On the form, you can also remove the storm/fog coverage. If there is fog or wind above force 7, the insurance can cover that day. Note: this insurance can only be taken out up to 30 days before departure!

If you wish, it is possible to take out cancellation insurance. The cost is approximately 4.65% of the total booking and can be found on the insurance form we include with the contract.
Please note: if the cancellation is Corona-related, no refund will be given place.

The renter returns the sailing yacht to the owner at the end of the rental period, at the agreed time and place, and in the same condition as when received. If you arrive later than stated in the contract, we charge € 50 per half hour.

The boat must be returned as follows:
– diesel tank full (You can refuel at: Flevo Marina or Batavia Haven)
– drinking water tank(s) full
– shore power connected to the yacht
– kitchen inventory clean and put away in the cupboards
– trash bin empty and clean (waste disposed of in designated containers)
– Any damage must be reported immediately upon return to avoid surprises.

Before booking, we ask which type of sailing yachts you have skippered. After approval, you may rent the boat.

Our yachts are equipped with a registered VHF radio (some with an AIS receiver). You may only use the radio if you hold a VHF radio certificate.

The reservation, gas, and cleaning fees, as well as the diesel you consume, are additional costs

that come with renting the sailing yacht (see price list).

Unfortunately, pets are not allowed on our yachts. We understand how important your four-legged friends are, but to ensure hygiene and the comfort of all guests, we cannot make exceptions.

The diesel and water tanks are full at the start of your rental period. The rented yacht must be returned with full diesel and water tanks. If this is not done, we will charge a fee.

On board there are sufficient approved automatic life jackets and at least 2 lifelines.

Please make sure you are outside; smoking on the boat is prohibited.

Scopolamine patches.
Your doctor can also prescribe a scopolamine patch. This patch contains medication against nausea. You apply the patch behind your ear six to fifteen hours before departure, and it can stay on for up to three days.

Cinnarizine 25 PCH (start before the trip, available by prescription).

Prefer not to use medication for seasickness?
Sea-Band wristbands. These bands prevent nausea by applying gentle pressure on your wrists.

Ginger can also help with seasickness, and always eat something before you set off.

At the Deko Marina on our rental dock, electricity is free. You take the cable with you when you sail away. Once you arrive at another marina, you can often use shore power (for a fee). There are standard sockets on board, which can be used when the boat is connected to shore power.

With a 12V plug (like the one used in car cigarette lighters), you can also charge your phone or other devices while underway.

There is a free parking lot at Deko Marina with ample spaces. Two charging stations are available to charge your car.

If you plan to sail offshore, a North Sea package is mandatory.
The cost is €250. Sailing to countries outside the EU, such as England, is not permitted.
Offshore sailing is only allowed if you have an agreement with Brug Jachtverhuur.
If you sail without prior consultation, you will not be insured against damage or other issues.

If you want to participate in a regatta / sailing race, please indicate this when booking. In some cases, permission is not granted. With permission, the deposit is doubled.

When you make your reservation, you can choose a skipper or instructor for one or more days. The instructor will gladly teach you practical maneuvering and sailing with the chosen sailboat.
We do not offer individual sailing courses. These are always combined with boat rental.

If you cannot sail or are unsure about it, please always contact us! Sailing is not allowed above wind force 6 (from wind force 7 you are no longer insured and there is a forecast of adverse weather conditions). We cannot provide financial compensation for bad weather.

However, you can take out insurance with storm, wind, and fog coverage, allowing you to reclaim these lost day(s) from the insurer. This insurance can only be taken out 30 days before departure. With your contract, you will receive an application form for sailing insurance that includes this coverage.
